Northfork Valley Golf Course opened to the
public in 2003. During its years of operation it has rapidly moved up in popularity in the Mid Ohio Valley.
The par 70 course, built on the former
Wigal farm, features a challenging but fair course for golfers of all skill levels. The front 9 consists of lightly
rolling fairways with elevated greens while the back 9 is relatively flat with water hazards in play on several holes.
The greens which are larger than the average green you find in this area are designed to provide the golfer with a challenging
putting experience. A cart path system with water stations, ball cleaners and rest rooms along with the club house which
features a snack bar, pro shop and banquet facilities make for comfortable play throughout the entire course.
Although the scorecard says it’s a short course the majority of the golfers are surprised of their score after
the round. At Northfork Valley GC golfers must hit the fairways and greens or up and downs could be tough
to impossible.
Each season there has been some minor
changes in the golf course. From fixing some tee boxes to lengthening some holes. This
upcoming season should bring more changes to lengthen the course for golfers to challenge.
